Assessment as, for and of

Assessment as learning: During this assessment students reflect on their own work on a regular basis. They are able to learn how to learn  by themselves or in peer work.

Assessment for learning: This kind of assessment is usually interactive with teachers and takes place through the learning process. It provides instant feedback and guidance to the students.

Assessment of learning: It refers to the type of assessment which is usually summative and it is provided at the end of a course, term or year. Most of the time it is applied for an external entity.
